The Trek begins from Nayapul, which is an hours scenic drive from Pokhara with some fabulous views of Annapurna (South) and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) en route . From Nayapul, a half an hours walk brings us to Birethanti, situated at the confluence of Modi and Bhurung rivers, here the route divides. We take the West trail towards Ghorepani, a trading village situated at an elevation of 2750 m., where there is a tremendous vantage point (Poon hill - 3194 m.) to view both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himal. The views at sunrise from Poon hill are simply stunning. From Ghorepani, the trail leads East to the hamlet of Tadapani and on towards Chhomrong, from where we commence our journey into the Annapurna Sanctuary and onwards to Annapurna Base Camp. The journey to base camp follows the valley in between the huge ramparts of Himchuli & Machhapuchhre, eventually emerging into an awesome Amphitheater, where a labyrinth of mountains and Annapurna I tower almost vertically above us.

 
Itineary:

Day 01 Arrival kathmandu International Airport , welcome transfer to hotel and rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Kathmandu–Pokhara, This morning you will be driven to Pokhara (200km), taking approximately 6 hours by tourist bus. Overnight Pokhara. overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 Pokhara- Tirkhe Dhunga OR Urlegri, We drive to Nayapul via the large village of Lumle and then start our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. Our path follows the main trail to Sudami where we climb steadily up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to Tirkhe Dhunga. Overnight Tirkhe Dhunga.

Day 04 Tirkhe Dhunga – Ghorepani, From Tirkhe Dhunga the trail crosses a stream and then ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar village at Ulleri (2070m). We trek through rhododendron and oak forests and across streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti. From Nangethanti we trek up to Ghorepani (2850m). Overnight Ghorepani.

Day 05 Ghorepani - Poon Hill – Tadapani, we rise very early and start our climb to Poon Hill (3195m). A brilliant spectacle, this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas . From Ghorepani the trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m). We descend to reach Banthanti, then wind our way to Tadapani (2540m). Over-night Tadapani.

Day 06 Tadapani – Chhomrung, From Tadapani the trail drops down through rhododendron and oak forests, arriving at Chhomrung for lunch. Chhomrung is a Gurung Village , and the highest permanent settlement in the valley with tremendous view across to Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare. Overnight Chhomrung.

Day 07 Chhomrung - Dovan or Himalaya Hotel, The trail descends via a stone staircase and then crosses the Chhomrung Khola. We climb high above the Modi Khola on its west bank, passing through forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. The trail now climbs to Kuldi, before descending a long, steep, stone staircase to Dovan. Overnight Dovan.

Day 08 Dovan - (Machhapurchhe Base Camp) or Annapurna Base Camp (Sanctuary), From Dovan the trail climbs high above the river, on to the lateral moraine, and down the other side to the glacier. Walking up the bed of the glacier we arrive at Base Camp (4237m). Overnight Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 09 Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo, We climb very early to the viewpoint for a stunning sunrise. After breakfast we retrace our steps to Bamboo. Overnight Bamboo.

Day 10 Bamboo- Chhomrung, From Bamboo the trail descends a long, stone staircase through bamboo and rhododendrons forests to Kuldi. The trail continues through more rhododendron forest and down to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa the trail leads downhill to the Modi Khola, where we then climb steeply to Chhomrung. Overnight Chhomrung.

Day 11 Chhomrung- Ghandrung, From Chhomrung the trail heads back to Taglung, then descends gently through forests to Kummu. We carry on down the trail to Ghandrung where there are fine views of Annapurna South. Overnight Ghandrung.

Day 12 Ghandrung- Pokhara, From Ghandrung we trek down hill through villages and terraced fields to Syauli Bazaar and on to Nayapul. Here we arrange transport back to Pokhara. Overnight Pokhara finished Annapurna Base Camp Trekking.

Day 13 Pokhara – Kathmandu, We take the bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu . evening farewell dinner overnight at Hotel.


Day 14 Final departure, Transfer to airport flight onward. Overnight in Hotel.
